Plantar Fasciitis (Foot Pain) — C&P Exam Preparation

Foot Conditions DBQ~20-30 minutes

Inflammation of the thick band of tissue on the bottom of the foot causing heel pain. The VA typically rates this under acquired flatfoot (DC 5276) or by analogy under foot injuries (DC 5284).

The examiner will look at your feet, check for deformity, swelling, callosities, and tenderness.
They will press on the bottom of your feet to assess pain, especially at the heel and arch.
Your weight-bearing alignment will be checked — where your weight falls relative to your toes.
The examiner will check your Achilles tendon alignment and whether there is inward bowing.
You may be asked to walk so the examiner can observe your gait.
