Migraine Headaches — C&P Exam Preparation

Headaches DBQ~20-30 minutes

Severe, recurring headaches often accompanied by nausea, light sensitivity, and visual disturbances. The VA rates migraines based on how often you have prostrating attacks and their economic impact.

The examiner will ask about your headache frequency, duration, severity, and symptoms (nausea, light sensitivity, aura).
You will be asked whether your headaches are "prostrating" — meaning they force you to stop what you are doing and lie down.
The examiner will ask about treatment: medications (preventive and abortive), emergency room visits, and effectiveness.
You will be asked how migraines affect your work, including missed days and reduced productivity.
There is no physical test for migraines — this exam is based on your history and reported symptoms.
